Yesterday the first bond beam was established across the outer wythe of the Music Room doors.

Here’s a bond beam to be for the inner wythe, showing how the (V-shaped) contour of a bond beam differs from a standard CMU:

You can also see in the above picture (and the next) the many other block cuts that are needed to tie together the structural and electrical layers of the building:

Finally, a measurement is taken to cut the steel rebar that will lay in the channel of the bond beam, making it strong in tension as well as compression:
